“ The vibe of El Puesto Cocina y Cantina on a Friday afternoon was calm and vibrant at the same time. The decor was nice, it brought some chill vibes. My waitress/host was Karely, she was awesome, timely on service and brought a smile to the already great atmosphere. The drinks were cute, I didn't want to drink them I would say though, I didn't taste the alcohol in them at all. The food had flavors and the presentation was great. The only thing, on my Biria there was a huge chunk of fat, I know fat is flavor but when you serve please take it out. I did take off one star for that and the drinks not having a hint of alcohol taste. I would recommend this place and would come back to try it again. Oh keep in mind the 3% charge if paying by credit card. ”
“ Coming here for lunch or brunch special is a must. The food options are really good. All the employees are hard workers and they keep it looking clean. I love the decor and vibe. ”
“ The Birria is really good! A must try if you come here. Our server was very attentive, he made sure we had enough salsa and walked occasionally to ask if we need anything else. The place is so relaxing and pretty, green and good music. I will stop again. ”
“ Was part of a large party. Let me start off by saying the staff was excellent on 12/14. Our server, a young lady was so polite and helpful and she was on it. Didn't bat an eye with 3 tables going. Very pleased with that part. I had fish taco's. They lacked fish. More fish and less cabbage would have been better. Other meals looked good. The beans, the beans. Let me say I want that recipe. I so enjoyed the beans. They are remarkable. A friend prepared them like that years ago, I think milk was involved in the cooking. The pinwheels with hot sauce, nah. Where's the chips. Overall we enjoyed our evening, their bar drinks looked nice but we didn't indulge. One man had a schooner of beer or maybe two. He looked happy. Oh yes, the place is very clean. Needed towels in the mens room but that's what long pants are for. I recommend this place, fair pricing but next time I will pass on the fish. Give this a try, very busy on Saturday nights so make reservations. ”
“ The food is pretty good. I usually always go for the enchiladas or the menudo. My family has always enjoyed their entrees each time we come. However it's a hit or miss with the agua frescas. The horchata agua is pretty decent but the jamaica tastes like pure sugar. I was very disappointed. The alcoholic drinks are good, nothing special besides the cute cups. Service is typically friendly and waiting times are short! Overall, a decent place with actually authentic Mexican food. ”
“ Every single item I had was amazing.. every time I come to Bakersfield, it's a must for breakfast! Horchata, Enfrijoladas, Chilaquiles, Beans, Cafe de OLLA, Carne Asada.. STUPID GOOD! Too bad I'm not from the area or else I would be here more often. Service is good as well and very attentive which is the reason why I came back every time. If you're reading this Management.. Open one in LA!.. THANKS IN ADVANCE! ”
“ Vibe was cool, restaurant is beautifully decorated. service was good and fast . Proteins were a bit over cooked. Ribs were a little tough, shrimp in the tacos were over cooked a bit too. Price would be good, if the proteins were cooked better. God bless. Romans 15:13 ”
“ This place is so cute! Probably one of the nices interior designs I've seen in a resteraunt in Bakersfield. I was highly impressed just walking in. Of course, you can also smell the amazing aroma of Mexican food so you know your at a good spot as soon as your in. My family and I came by for lunch on a Saturday around 2pm and surprisingly this place wasn't busy and we were seated within 5 minutes of checking in with the host. I must say the service here is phonemonal, all the waiters/servers were extremely helpful and so nice! They all made some great recommendations and we tried a few of them and loved them. I had the fajitas and for $25 bucks, THE PORTION WAS HUGE. Easily could feel 2-3 people, just an insane amount of meat and it was good! All of it was cooked well and had good flavor. The best part was the handmade tortillas served, just elevated the meal and gives you that real Mexico flavor profile. The rest of my family loved their meals. No complaints what so ever. Thank you El Puesto for the great hospitality and great food. We already can't wait to come back and eat here again. If your considering Mexican food, please do no hesitate to give this place a try and support a local buisness. You defenitly will not regret it. Till next time El Puesto. ”
